Not only does alternative energy have less egregious effects on planet Earth, but it saves money and promotes consumer independence too. Innovative projects that harness the energy of science and nature are developed every day in a race to find alternative energy sources. Workers in this field hold an optimistic vision of the future and they are willing to work hard to make it happen. Green careers develop technical skills, apply basic scientific theories, and inspire innovative design and problem solving.
So, what does Green even mean? Green is an umbrella term describing sustainable systems that use renewable resources, promote water and energy efficiency, and reduce pollution and environmental degradation. From recycling at your home and office to building a solar powered city, sustainability is taking the world by storm. Alternative energies grow cheaper and cheaper with improved manufacturing systems and technology. The U.S. government and military both currently integrate alternative energy into their business model because of the money it saves and the positive effects it has on the environment. It’s common opinion that if the current manner of energy consumption continues, consequences can be irreversible. Ice caps melt at exponential rates and sea levels continue to rise. Ecological systems around the world continue to become contaminated with industrial waste threatening the survival of animal species and humans alike.
